Troubleshoot Staff Availability and Assignment

If a service cannot be booked or a staff member is not being assigned as expected, check staff setup before assuming the booking system is broken.

Common symptoms

  • a service shows no available times
  • a staff member does not appear as selectable
  • public booking cannot find a valid slot
  • a booking set to All staff is not assigned as expected

Check active staff first

Confirm that the business has at least one active staff member.

Without active staff:

  • vendors should not treat public booking as ready
  • public booking should not work correctly
  • manual appointment creation may be blocked

Check service assignment

A staff member must be assigned to the service for that staff member to be considered eligible.

If a service exists but no staff is linked to it, the booking flow may show no valid time.

Check staff schedule

Confirm the selected staff member is available for:

  • the selected day
  • the selected hour
  • the selected service duration

Check existing bookings

If the staff member is already booked, the slot may be unavailable even if the staff profile and service assignment are correct.

About All staff

When a booking uses All staff, the system should assign an eligible available staff member automatically.

If this does not happen, check:

  • active status
  • service assignment
  • staff availability
  • existing conflicting appointments
